a kettle in the room would be great
Only slight issue; if you arrive late, the parking is full and you have to park offsite and walk about 2 blocks. The restaurant had limited choices for dinner and seem short staff on our visit
Everything was fine, except of Wi-Fi, which not worked in our room nr. 1.....
A lovely stay in a charming hotel. Beautiful.
This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful town. We have stayed here often and are always grateful to be back.
Toujours un bel accueil, une carte des vins extraordinaire et la carte restaurant également.
La qualité du petit déjeuner est à noter.
A lovely quaint hotel situated close to the centre of Chablis with and excellent restaurant and off-road parking.
A beautiful place, lovely staff
Limited parking spaces Cold contact and at a minimum
Very worn out. A bit smelly. Outdated decor.
Might have been nice 20-30 years ago.
Quality of food definitely not top qualitie.
There is potential, but I’ll take a lot of work to make it nice.
€2 for a carafe of water at the table, even though I was on an evening stopover and had not taken a starter which was nevertheless included in my menu….. €5 for a 33cl diet coke on the terrace They pass by their time wanting to present the wine list to you Impossible to dine on the terrace despite the good weather
Great location 400 yards from centre
Good food in restaurant
Great prices on “wine to go” ( told hotel owned by group of vineyard owners)- cheaper than at co-operative La Chablissienne
Car parking at rear
Lift to upper floors
Our stay at the Hostellerie des Clos was very disappointing. WiFi was not working when we were in the room. Neither on mobile phone nor on iPad. Even in the reception hall, our Wi-Fi connection was not working. The receptionist didn't know why this happened and couldn't do anything about it. In the bathroom (room no. 4), the taps were so blocked (probably due to lime deposits) that the taps almost had to be forced to open the rain shower. Before starting breakfast we wanted to have a glass of orange juice, but unfortunately this was not available (it was sold out and apparently could not be restocked). A multi-fruit drink was available and came from the juice machine. During breakfast, the coffee machine did not work (Coffee machine broken). A thermos with black coffee and a carafe of hot water were provided. The deterioration of this hotel makes us understand that we will choose a different destination on our next trip.
We live in England. We have stayed here before, several years ago and will be staying again in September. We came back because our memory is of an excellent dining experience. We were not disappointed.
Incredibly helpful friendly and efficient staff. ( english spoken)
Beautiful shady terrace, light and airy dining room.
Bedroom, so clean and very comfortable.
Would not hesitate to recommend.
Comfortable and quiet. Food very good. Staff pleasant and helpful
Sehr schönes Hotel in einer schönen ländlichen Gegend
Schönes Hotel und schöne Umgebung
Very well located. Friendly staff. Exceptional wine list. Traffic jam at the coffee machine in the morning. Dinner of variable quality.
Good restaurant, bed a bit narrow and hard.
The hootel was confortable and dog friendly The room was small but confortable except the billows were very hard and no tea coffe making ie kettle the only slogis for a few years that didnt have this also no water again the only logi that didnt provide this
the restaurant was good and the wine list extensive
These days it’s adequate. Much better years ago. The restaurant is not good enough
Having notified the hotel in advance that one of our party was coeliac and required gluten free options at dinner and breakfast, we were impressed by the efforts made by all the staff to accommodate this, both by reception staff and in the restaurant.
Restaurant and reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Luxury and very good restaurant
I recommend
We have been going to this hotel for a number of years (since 2015 or so). The restaurant used to be very good with fine dining and the main reason for staying. The hotel is also in a lovely building with simple but good rooms and in easy walking distance of the town.
However now the restaurant has gone down in quality and choice and is more of a bistro. Current menu is a short ala carte with a choice of 4 or so starters, mains and desserts. NO SET MENUS anymore! We had stayed at the hotel this year again in January and had been disappointed then and thought it may have been a one off after the January shutdown so we tried it again this November. Food very average and more pub and bistro. I do not understand how it can be rated Table Distinguee anymore. Logis de France need to go there and check it out. e.g. Starter I had was half a plate of lettuce with a flaky burger type roll with caramelised onions and smoked duck (meant to be onion tarte tartin). My main was fish on a bed of mashed potatoes and a roughly chopped up carrot in a white sauce. The fig dessert which was meant to be a tart was figs on a flat piece of pastry. All quite edible but no finesse. Grading now quite wrong and should be lowered to set correct expectations. True that price is not as high as fine dining at some 45 euro for a three course. however you can get a similar or better set meal for less at other Logis Hotels - e.g. Val Moret. Overall it is bistro fare now - no Amuse bouche either. As we were checking out we noticed a certificate on the wall saying the restaurant was in the top 100 burgundy restaurants which was previously true but would question this now. The Logis 2023 book page 145 has Guillame Collet as the chef and menus from 22 to 70 euro plus a lovely picture of a plate of food. Is he still there? Please inspect to see for yourselves as clearly things have changed since the book was printed last year for this season.
The restaurant still has the large and extensive wine list though which is completely out of balance with the food now offered and more casual offering. Seems strange to be offered hundreds of different wines in a massive book some going in to hundreds of euros to go with a bistro type meal. A better pairing would be a cut down list with perhaps carafe wine options.
It is a lovely restaurant but now lacks the style it used to have. Table cloths and smart professional waiting staff gone. Now is staffed by young, inexperienced people wearing tee shirts and trainers. They are helpful and do their best.
We appreciate that hospitality can be a tough business to make provide a good level of experience and make pay. Our overall comment is that the hotel needs to think about what level and type of customer it is aiming at and set the correct expectations so customers are not left disappointed. Logis de France need to look in to this too so it does not impact the brand with negative reviews and customer disappointment of quality. I notice from reviews of this hotel that this seems to be a common comment from previous customers saying the restaurant is no longer what it was. A great shame and hope something can be done to turn this around.
We would be grateful if you could let us know of any feedback or comments Logis de France have on the above and any changes to be made.
Nice hotel
For the price of the room, I don't expect peeling paint on outdated cabinets and the door. Bed too small, sheets too short. Room door locking system outdated.
Very disappointing in several ways. Meal lacking flavor for a high price. On the other hand, very nice wine list. On the occasion of a fire alarm in the morning, no staff from the establishment present or at least visible... customers left to their own devices until the arrival of a maid who was able to stop the fire. 'fire alarm. No apology or explanation. Brief welcome to see again
NO HEATING in the room. Mediocre meal. Overcooked fish. Very expensive breakfast for very little.
Quite disappointed with the rooms and hygiene! Indeed, if the reception and the restaurant are well presented, the contrast is great with the rooms which are dilapidated and poorly maintained. Hygiene is not everything (large hair on the bed, nail on the floor in the toilet) not very appealing. Plus dust everywhere. Small pieces of trash behind the door remained throughout our stay... The staff barely says hello and is not friendly. We had dinner the first evening. We put dishes on the table for you without further comment, it's a shame. In addition a fire alarm went off in the morning at 8:30 a.m., as it did not stop several guests left the rooms worried, we went down to reception, no one. Ultimately it was a false alarm, but no explanation and no one to inform us. I gave a good rating for the lunch which was quite good, but on the 2nd morning a customer waited more than 15 minutes. bread..... In short there is great potential for improvement...
The only negative point was that it was not a double bed but 2 single beds pushed together. not very practical especially as the mattresses did not have the same height.
Apart from the curtains in room 5 which should be replaced and the hallway carpet stained in several places, the overall quality of the hotel is good. Price of the bar and drinks at the table quite reasonable. Parking a bit small for the number of rooms
Lovely hotel in great location in Chablis. Staff super helpful and friendly, food excellent and sublime wine list.
Overall the hotel, staff and restaurant are very good but I will not stay there again as my room had a distinct fire risk. The door is opened and locked, inside and outside the room, by a conventional key. This also operates the lights. If you wish to be secure at night, you must lock the door with the key. If you need to get out of the room at night, you have to remove the key from the light socket and enter the key in the door. But the lights go out before this is possible. I would not wish to be there in a fire.
Very helpful staff, nice with gardens and location extremely helpful for visiting wine yards
Lovely hotel, great location, car park, friendly and professional staff, good restaurant
when we arrived (around 2:45 p.m.) we were told check-in was at 3:00 p.m., no problem. At ~15:10 I approached reception to ask if the room was ready - they went to check but said it would be about 20mins more wait, no problem. I went back ~20mins later, they had to check, and said the room was still not ready. About 15 mins later we were given a different room (no problem), when we entered the room there were flowers/chocolates/wine and rose-petals on the bed - very pretty - my wife was unconvinced this was for us so went to reception and asked ... and it was the wrong room .... so we were given another (3rd room now!). This room was ok, but the floorboards creaked every step..., also we could hear the shower/toilets of other rooms above when they were in use, luckily not too disturbing as we were very tired after a long drive. Finally - no place to eat in the hotel for residents, this is a generally poor situation for someone staying in a hotel to be unable to eat there, ok, the restaurant was busy but no attempt by staff to assist/suggest alternative. One final feeback, using the disabled toilet - there was no soap or paper towel/hand-dryer.... The positive - had a few minor things been better the stay could have been so much more memorable for all the right reasons. regards Glenn Stevenson PS: We will probably stay in Logis again when visiting France, we hope they give better experiences.
The hotel itself is adequate. We have been here 5 times and have recommended it to many friends. However, we strictly came for the restaurant and this time we found a drastic change. It went from gourmand to a bistro. Had we been informed of this last March when we booked we would not have stayed here
We were told the change happened a year ago...we should have been informed. The beautiful dining room went from lovely tablecloths to bare tables, the experienced and knowledgeable wait staff went downhill to basically kids with no expertise. And the menu went from fabulous to difficult to find something we liked. A true disappointment.
.
Very nice hostelry, good quality and service
Welcoming and professional, but a bit too long a wait because lunch was hot and there was no one at the reception.
Dear sympathetic people
Apart from the parquet floor in the very noisy room For the rest perfect
Our room and floor were smelling dog shit or something like that. The tuna tataki was bad at the restaurant. Duck was good.
The hotel is really superb
The only gemarkeerd we have is about diner Wijchen we goud a bit to expensive for what it was.
We will certainly recommend the hotel
Small room, rusty radiator in the bathroom. Disappointing restaurant, "bistro" with reduced menu. The restaurant with chef Guillaume Collet as indicated on the advertisement does not exist. False advertising. We booked this hotel for the restaurant. Very disappointing !
Hotel: perfect. Easy parking but full when we arrived. Public car park within 100 m. Restaurant: the menu is not in line with the setting of the room, the standing of the hotel and with the prices charged. No menus. Remarkable and exceptional wine list, but high prices.
Aucun service
Our third visit...absolutely love it
We have stayed here many times over the years. It has changed over the time however this time it was definitely poorer. The reception staff were inexperienced and unfriendly which was never the case. Whilst the food we had was good, the menu selection was limited. We understood when we booked that the bistro menu was during the week and a more extensive a la carte menu at the weekend. This was not the case when we stayed and so changed at some point. So to call this a gastronomic restaurant is not appropriate. In the past the restaurant was superb. The room was clean however the air conditioning rattled even though it was off and the toilet roll holder was broken. Such a shame to see the deterioration of this lovely place.
Very well decorated hotel. Well adjusted. cosi. Nice and big bedroom and bathroom. .
Bel hôtel à Chablis, confortable et le personnel très accueillant et disponible.
Average bedding quality.
very nice establishment, extremely attentive team, quality of services (accommodation, catering) excellent
Regrettable to have booked a stay as a "lover" including a certain number of services and attentions, and to find yourself billed for a much higher amount out of all proportion to the expected service. After discussions, a minimal gesture was made, "gift" of breakfasts. Very disappointed as a customer, we expected better to live up to the habits of France's ETIK customer. Regarding the restaurant no choice of dishes, imposed menu linked to the formula but charged. disappointment on the egg en Meurette without red wine sauce.
We have stayed here twice before in the days when the restaurant had a star. This time it was very obvious that the hotel was short of staff. When we checked in the man at the desk kept us waiting without even a greeting as he finished some paperwork which was not just unwelcoming but actively rude. At breakfast there were no staff in the restaurant at all, uncleared tables were everywhere, no coffee cups and no bowls. We had to go to the front desk and get the receptionist to go into the kitchen to find these items for us. We noticed that an hour after we had finished our breakfast the table we had used was still not cleared. On the plus side we did enjoy our meal in the restaurant. It was sad that the hotel seems to have declined significantly over the years.
I think the hotel is looking old, it needs a remodel.
We were here years ago. Lovely room and delicious dinner then. Must be new owners. Got sick on salmon in cream. Quite awful. Asparagus starter lovely
Will never eat dinner here again
👍🤗
Very good hotel.
15 eu for very simple breakfast
The young man on the desk saturday evening had no brains. We told him the problem that we were not finding any place too eat. And he let s now that it was also not possible to diner en n the hotel????
Excessive price: small room, more than ordinary toilet paper, no welcome tray, no pad/pencil). Restaurant: very friendly service, but the kitchen is overwhelmed, so there's a lot of waiting. Breakfast too expensive (15 euros): no toaster, no lemon for tea, only one kind of bread). Pleasant courtyard garden
THE HOTEL IS GOOD AND PLEASANT OVERALL. HOWEVER, WE WERE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE VERY SMALL MENU WITH A STRONGLY REDUCED SELECTION. FOOD QUALITY WAS OK.
The hotel part would need to be renovated, especially the carpet in the corridors and the bathroom in room 10, high comfort Restaurant RAS
The manager is adorable and the setting is beautiful!
Very good restaurant, very friendly and efficient staff, comfortable rooms.
