Logis Hôtel la Vinaigrerie

I find it unfortunate that I need to provide a poor review for this hotel, but here we are! My wife and I were attending a wedding in the region (mid-August timeframe) and chose this hotel as our accommodation for two very precise reasons; the room was advertised with A/C, and the hotel boasted a restaurant & bar.
Upon arrival, we discovered that the restaurant & bar were closed for annual vacation!! Not a catastrophe in and of itself, but how much effort would it really have taken to inform us prior to arrival? This failing would have been unlikely to initiate a search for alternate accommodation, but a heads-up would have taken some of the irritation out of the situation.
When we were shown to our room, we were informed that the A/C was inoperative! This was a more significant issue for us and would certainly have prompted an alternate search had we known ahead of time. We were told that this situation would not be rectified for two days. It turns out that the situation was not rectified at all! We asked if we could be moved to a different room with functioning A/C but were informed that there were no other rooms available. Since we never encountered another living soul in the hotel for 2 days, we can only assume that no other rooms had functioning A/C! The hotel staff did provide two portable fans in an effort to provide some relief. As we were settling in, the situation was further exacerbated by the note attached to the remote control for the A/C, which read "NE PAS TOUCHER L INTERIEUR PETIT CON". I am happy to share a photograph with Logis Hotels if requested. When we brought this to the attention of the hotel staff, she was suitably embarrassed and apologetic, explaining that the manager had insisted on the notification and had also categorically denied our request for an adjustment in the room rate to compensate for non-functional A/C.
Just to wrap this review up in a nice bow, I would point out that while I find it somewhat normal that staff/tradesmen had to access our room in our absence to service the faulty A/C, I do not find it normal in the slightest that the room door was not re-locked afterwards. Nor do I find it normal in the slightest that someone would enter our room and remove the additional covers and pillows from the closet during our stay, without permission/notification.
So, in summary, the product that we received was neither the product advertised nor the product that we paid for. I find it borderline scandalous that no effort was made by site management to apologize or accommodate in any way, shape or form. A rather basic failing in the hospitality business in my opinion.
I would be highly surprised and actually quite horrified if this is the standard to which Logis Hotels aspire. I'm certain that this is more an anomaly than the norm but it was, nevertheless, our experience!!

Very nice hotel and magnificent room overlooking the water for a romantic stay!

We stayed here for one night for our drive back home for holiday. It is quit and peaceful. Just what we needed after a long drive.
The room is a little bit outdated, but convenience.
It is, though, very large, we had the suite.
The receptionist does not speak English very well, she answers in French.
Nice that you have a small terrace for yourselves.

The hotel is highly recommended. The location in the middle of nature, the facilities and the comfort were impeccable. However, it is a 1.7 km walk from the train station. The rooms were very clean and well-kept. I would recommend putting fly screens on the windows (at least in the bathroom). It was difficult to air the bathroom in the evening after a shower. You quickly had a lot of insects in the room. On the last evening the WiFi failed; the router must have had a technical problem.

Really quiet hotel near the city center of Joinville, in the middle of a garden, on the edge of the small canal. Very friendly welcome, very well decorated room, with all the desired comfort. Breakfast could be improved a little with better quality products and more diversity. We appreciated being able to simply dine at the hotel. We remember the address.

In the rooms with a terrace, the WiFi is weak or non-existent. Please fix it so I can use it next time. TV doesn't work either.

Initially we were shown to a room on the first floor. However, without any comment from us when the receptionist saw how difficult it was for my wife to climb those stairs she immediately gave us an excellent room at ground level. That is very good service. The receptionist was also the waitress at the evening meal which gave a continuity to our overall experience. I doubt if she receives the two salaries she deserves.

A very nice and helpful lady in reception. Some incomprehensibility with the accommodation. Dinner was only offered to a (privileged?) part of the guests.

nice to have slept in the chalet. friendly girls in the restaurant. An important downside: no WiFi, so no work or morning newspaper.

Just the reception which was hasty and without the possibility of catering (3 rooms to book for business) There are ways to say things and especially less hasty What forced us to eat in another restaurant. Not used to finding this kind of welcome in the homes of France

Top reception, very good location 50m from a petrol station, an intermarket and a shopping area, 5 minutes from the town center of joinville and the castle's hiking trails. The duplex room: spacious and very good for 5 (3 double beds) Breakfast: plentiful and varied Large outdoor area with the Marne canal which adjoins the area. To test: canoeing on the canal In summary: perfect for 2 or 3 days

Very pleasant room. The breakfast can be improved with fresh fruit and varied fruit juices without concentrate. The team is very welcoming.
