Restaurant le Louis XI

Reception staff replaced by an automaton. Freezing breakfast room (coat required).

First and last stay at this hotel. Restaurant supposedly open but closed with no information message to the customer.

A machine for reception. A key distributor, we pay for the stay at the machine in order to retrieve the key and therefore see the room. At the start we leave the key in a Hurne before leaving. There is a warmer welcome. The restaurant is independent of the hotel.

Nobody in the hotel 24/7 which I find a bit worrying. Bar did not open as promised at 18 hours as promised.
Breakfast not worth €15

Very different from the usual hotels I use with Logis, and the location and building are steeped in history, but we loved the atmosphere and also the restaurant. We will go back. The staff are anxious to please and we loved this unusual stopover.

Old-fashioned room, with a second bed that I hadn't requested and which was covered in dust. the bathroom light does not work, there is no fridge in the room, the shutter to open the window is broken, the paint is chipped, the furniture damaged. in short, it is far from worth the price I paid.

Friendly welcome and obliging host, but not sure that location and ambience justified the price of the room, taking other factors into account.

Bed 140*190, I hadn't seen that for years, canvases are everywhere in the room, on the stairs, the walls not very clean and a musty smell in the room…. Only positive point is the evening catering in the evening stopover. Breakfast is served late at 7:30 am, and the orange juice machine was dirty (orange juice probably stuck on the plastic from the day before). Finally the very slow wifi and sometimes disconnecting, as the reception was closed at 8:15 p.m. when I went down to dinner I could not ask them why, this also surely explains why some TV channels are missing, in particular that of the M6 group.

Hotel interesting by its originality but which has the defects of its qualities, the rooms are spacious but strangely equipped, the reception is curious, not very visible and poorly explained. You can spend an evening there but a stay should be short. Catering separate from the hotel, in original premises, a bit expensive.
