Very small room, no parking, restaurant closed at 8:15 p.m....there is probably much better in this small tourist town.
Small room and poor soundproofing. Tiny TV. Bathroom and toilet with sliding door..thanks for the privacy. For 2; One goes out to give the other his privacy in the toilet.. top😔 Old and very poorly soundproofed common areas. 90 euros per night 🤔 We are surprised afterwards that we prefer BNB accommodation.
Very good experience with a very pleasant and helpful welcome. The room is clean and functional. The bed is very comfortable. Perfect soundproofing. And ideal location in town. Excellent value for money
Disappointing and overall expensive for what you get: needs renovating, ceiling mold, narrow stairs and no elevator, no staff for evening check in.
The hotel is aging (sink bedding, macerator toilets, old furniture) and has no charm. The room we had booked with 2 double beds for our family was occupied by other guests when we arrived. So we slept with our two children in a double bed. The hotel made a gesture but the damage was done. In short, a very bad experience!
bad bed sheets and extremely loud
The hotel-restaurant connection was a very nice experience.
The whole thing needs to be refreshed!! Hotel very poorly insulated, the bathroom with a horrible disgusting smell, the shower doors do not close, a very dirty towel!! Breakfast not great, really the minimum.
Nous avons apprécié notre court séjour (1 nuit avec petit-déjeuner) à l'Hôtel Lanex et nous y reviendrons certainement si nous revenons à Amboise.
reception OK, bed OK, rustic bathroom, TV sound blocked???, hotel parking located several hundred meters away. So suitcase drop-off, VHC drop-off and return on foot If hotel package, breakfast, meal: value for money ok, but meal at Place du Château nicer hotel located on a street where parking is very very difficult
It was fantastic
The shower was moldy and the bathroom smelled very unpleasant, even reaching the bedroom. In addition, the shower cubicle could not be closed because the doors were broken.
I am very disappointed with the restoration. As much as everything else was correct, there is a problem on the restaurant side Summary of the stay: I booked an evening stopover in this hotel for the price, and the location in relation to my business trips. When I arrived there, the very friendly receptionist told me that the restaurant was closed due to holidays. Well, they are entitled to it too! They sent me to a partner restaurant: ok, no problem. When I arrived there, they explained to me that €xx was covered by the hotel and that the rest was my responsibility. Well, surprisingly, I didn't think I had booked this service. Once I have the card in hand, I notice that there is no menu for the price of the service. In short, there is necessarily some overtaking, which suddenly becomes obligatory, this is not normal. I cannot go elsewhere (hotel pick-up in this restaurant), I paid for an evening stopover which includes the evening meal, not for an evening stopover with a compulsory supplement for the evening meal. It's not normal not to have indicated this, it's not normal not to take full responsibility for the meal. As a result, I was sold an evening stopover which is not one! If I have to have a compulsory supplement for each stopover evening, I immediately stop coming to Logis hotels that offer stopover evenings. Disappointing experience at LANEX.
One night stay for 2 people in this hotel. Ideal location in the heart of the city, but very noisy due to the proximity of pedestrian streets and the main boulevard (cars passing through until very late). Poor soundproofing because we could hear our roommates... Modern furniture, but a few small hiccups: torn fitted sheet, heating that doesn't work... When we arrived, the reception was about to close, night access was very practical. However, no possibility of heating our meal because no access to a microwave or dishes (although available in the other hotels of the Logis group that we had previously rented)... at the price of the room, a small “dining” area would be welcome.
Lieu intéressant mais un peu bruyant
The location is superb. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Room was nice, clean and bed was comfortable. The downside was just to find a free parking space, which about 4_5 minute walking. I didn't eat at the hotel as lots of restaurants, cafes and Carrefour (similar to 7_11) nearby. All tourist attraction were within walking distance. Definitely, will stay again if I ever go back to Amboise
The quality/price ratio is very disappointing. We paid €99 (including tax) for one night in the hotel. The bathroom was catastrophic (sink too low / flush too low / shower cubicle broken and clogged). Only the water flow and heat of the shower were ok. 5 flies were flying in the room when we arrived (unpleasant). The location is nevertheless very good and the staff welcoming. The shutters are very practical. The bedding is very correct.
Great welcome and charming staff
Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice design in the reception rooms. Clean room. Good variety for breakfast,
Ras
Nous avons été relogé à l'hôtel Chaptal se trouvant dans la même rue et c'est un très bel établissement. Propre, élégant et un bon accueil.
Chambre spacieuse et très bon petit déjeuner.
We are elderly and it would have been a good idea to help us carry our luggage to the room. All bedrooms being upstairs.
Hotel Review
I reserved a riverfront room (and paid extra for it) but was not given one. The sheets were dirty, with sticky stains on them. The bathroom was very small and also smelled strongly of sewage. It was not worthy for what we paid for. Not recommended.
Restaurant
The food was good. But the bill included an additional charge that the restaurant people could not explain. 14.5 euros charged with no justification and no explanation in the menu. Instead they invoked calling the police which was stupid given they were upfront cheating. All we wanted was to pay the fair price for the food and, hell yeah, bring the police to see the cheating in the receipt.
Questionable hygiene in room 27 (hair in the shower and "hair" in the bed, change of hotel without asking our opinion or commercial gesture breakfast 1€50 more expensive than expected and room 21 really smaller than that planned in the room another hotel. Our next stay will be in another hotel.
Overall very satisfied. The bedding was excellent and the cleanliness of the room too. What a mark on the white curtains. And a shower cubicle a little worn by time.
Dirty room Spiders Blind broken and impossible to lower Dirty curtains VERY dirty bathroom, moldy shower grout Mold stains on ceiling
This hotel is very fairly priced for Amboise. The central location cannot be beat! The rooms are up to date. The beds are comfortable. They have air conditioning which was necessary for the extra warm September. The staff was very pleasant helpful. Thank you Noah.
Our only minor issue is that check-in is at 16:00pm only because there is no staff on duty until 16:00. We arrived about 4.5 hours before check-in and it would have been nice if we could pick-up the key at the Chaptal Hotel down the street.
Sliding bathroomdoor did not cover opening. No privacy. Showee very tight fit. Noisy on main road. Breakfast uninspired.
An excessive cost for a mediocre room, a bathroom (we dare call it a bathroom) dilapidated, dirty with a shower with a broken door, toilets not fixed to the floor. As for the reception, an unpleasant person, unwelcoming and unsmiling, who should change jobs if it bothers them to receive tourists. The presentation is misleading, we thought we had parking. We were told about free public parking (which is also secure and where it is impossible to find a space!) and we managed to get a parking space (private at €10 per night + 150 m from the hotel .). Let's not talk about the prohibitively expensive breakfast (€11/person extra). Above all, a hotel to avoid at all costs, it's lamentable and I really don't recommend this hotel.
Small room but comfortable with quiet air con. Don't expect to watch TV. Breakfast ok. Hotel very central location
The hotel is very well located, close to the city center, tourist sites, restaurants and shops. The room was small but well appointed, the bed comfortable, the bathroom small but very clean. The staff was friendly, smiling and the breakfast varied and plentiful.
To avoid the room without window which opens room N 4
Late cold reception not before 4 p.m. they are closed before... We seem to annoy them. They say they have free parking so normally at least one space per room, but they didn't want to give me one, telling me that it was full!!!
Apart from the location The room is not worth its price given the state of the bathroom
Nothing to do with the usual quality of lodgings in France. To flee. bathroom dilapidated and moldy from floor to ceiling. . There is nothing at the breakfast buffet after 9am. Decent bedding.
I showed up after 8:30 pm and wasn't even able to check in at this hotel. I find this unusual and unacceptable.
Welcome good, but disappointing room services as well as breakfast Not good value for money paid
It is a hotel without an elevator, which is a problem for older people to access. At breakfast, on Sunday we went down at 9 and we did not have a variety of fruits or croissants.
In the town, close to free parking. Very small room, didn't like the bedding but the bed was comfortable.
A very pleasant hotel with a very friendly service and welcome
Great staff. Very helpful. Tasty free breakfast.
Upgraded, we went to 3 stars, which is a good 2 stars. In terms of view, size of the bedroom and the bathroom. On the other hand, 3-star breakfast, complete, impeccable As far as the restaurant is concerned, you can go there with your eyes closed, the super nice bosses, a lot of humor, and professionals, what the people demand!!!!
All these notes are valid for the hotel Chaptal because the hotel Lanex was closed. We were very well received, the room was very good, the bedding very good. Only downside, a little extraneous noise that lasted all night, this one coming from outside near the window.
Very good continental buffet in the morning and friendly staff. Too bad, however, that we were told of a "reclassification" without asking our opinion... we imagined a room in a 3-star hotel... and unfortunately it was just a small identical room in a hotel without a lift.
We were supposedly upgraded to another establishment. Unilateral decision, without prior consultation... We thus "benefited" from a 140 bed instead of a large double bed!!! Installed on the second floor, no elevator, with our 76-year-old Thank you administrative managers. Avoid this type of establishment!!!
A bit old and very damp room 1 A bit of refreshing would be a plus. Cleaning of shower joints for example and very heavy duvet Very good breakfast. Too bad not to have been warned earlier for the restaurant closed on November 11 Competitive price €80 for 1x night, breakfast €13.5
