When art meets gourmet food
Cheval Blanc was taken over about three years ago by three friends. Each with his own speciality, they took charge and the result is truly a success. Starting with the restaurant's soft, restful decor, spaced tables with double tablecloths, and young, masculine service that's efficient, smiling and professional. Next up is the cuisine under the leadership of 24-year-old chef Louis Chapellier, winner of the "Young Chef of the Year" Read more award. Originally from the neighboring Meuse region, he knows the best local producers, as demonstrated by his Veal sweetbreads, carrots and corn emulsion. Quaint hotel in a quiet village on Le Lac du Der … Easy to find, parking on site, warm welcome, nice fresh room with crisp white bed linen. Room was newly refurbished. Excellent TV with multiple options to connect to devices. Fantastic food in the restaurant. Breakfast a little disappointing given the quality of the restaurant food the previous evening - standard cereal/ pastries freshly baked but definitely not freshly made. Enjoyable but having been holidaying in Italy definitely room for improvement on the breakfast even if the price needs to increase.
Beautiful establishment. The staff is very friendly and professional. The restaurant is really great and very good. Negative point. A refresh in the standard rooms would be nice. On the other hand, bedding and bathroom nothing to complain about.
