A good place to stop on the EuroVelo 3 cycle route, also known as the Scandibérique. The space for secure bicycle parking needs to be reviewed, however.

We had asked for a parking space. No response, in fact it was full.
Beautiful hotel, clean with very friendly staff, which offers the possibility of eating until 9 p.m., when arriving late, it's great.

beautiful location, very friendly and professional staff
A nice hotel with a restaurant on the banks of the Vienne between the two bridges in a very quiet location. The room was very small, but perfectly adequate for one night. The breakfast was good, with nothing special, as is often the case in France. The staff was friendly and attentive. There are parking spaces nearby, and we were able to park our car in the basement of the building for a fee.

Renovated room, impeccable condition. Only the catering suffers from a lack of diversity (Pizza or Hamburger on the menu), a shame because the rest is quite correct.

Lack of heating, not too noisy, good quality welcome, not tested the restaurant.
The location is what really makes a stay in this hotel - it's right next to the river. The menu selection is fairly limited but the courses that we had were very good. I originally intended to use the private parking but there was easy parking available in front of the hotel on the night we stayed there.
Stay for work. Only hotel available in the area and it is the fourth time I have stayed there. The staff are welcoming but alternate between the adjacent pub and reception: an understandable situation given the size of the hotel. Furthermore, the last 2 times we were 3 people and no identity document was asked based on trust alone. Definitely dated rooms: there is no electronic key (badge type) and there is carpet on the floor (unhygienic given that the town is humid and when you enter the room with your shoes on it gets soaked with water). However, the room is clean, tidy and you sleep peacefully.
The evening meal, very good. Clean room overlooking the back of the hotel, so very quiet. Parking for my motorbike, safe when loaded. Just a small downside, not too much choice at breakfast.

Unpleasant stay in the evening stopover!!! I had booked for 3 nights, but immediately upon arrival I asked to change to 2 nights (accepted by the young receptionist) The last evening, during my payment, the receptionist was unable to accommodate me. the Etik points, the next day when I left, I explained the problem to the manager (an unpleasant man who had bothered me the day before because I showed up at 7:27 p.m. to eat while the service started at 7:30 p.m.), the one -this takes me to the limit because I canceled a night which supposedly made him lose 15%, following this problem the Mr refuses to charge me my etik card... Then to finish, I noticed until later in the day I had forgotten my football jersey (almost new) in the room, a toothbrush and a pair of boxers, I immediately called the hotel, the lady replied that she did not have time and that 'she is in full service, I call back the next morning, the manager explains to me that he is busy and that I have to call back later... I decide to go directly to the hotel (40 minutes drive), get there- bottom, the young receptionist explains to me that he can't do anything for the items which a priori have disappeared... Otherwise for the room, it's the bare minimum, not even a fan, even worse no shutter but only 2 old curtains (not even blackout) even though the hotel is located in the city center so... light all night... it was difficult to sleep... the bathroom is really out of date... On the other hand, I honestly found the restaurant good and the 2 young waitresses were really friendly and ran everywhere to satisfy customers' requests.
Aging hotel in need of updating. The door which blocks the thickness of the carpet, no air conditioning and window overlooking the road, difficult to leave open, a lot of noise but due to people's lack of respect for their roommates. Plan to soundproof.
A very poor quality breakfast! unheard of!! limit foutage of mouth (no charcuterie, no egg, very low cost). on the site the parking is included in reality there are only two places for the whole hotel and in addition it costs 6€... bed with lots of hair and dusty room!!! quadruple room does not exist. No shower gel in the room and the same for toilet paper in short it's really disappointing.
Very pleasant hotel. The room is large enough and well appointed. The bed is comfortable, and there is enough in the bathroom. Very quiet room at the back and view of the Vienne. You can park easily on the street. We enjoyed the meal on a pretty terrace. Kind staff.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The only thing we found difficult was that there was no fan or air conditioning in our room and as it was very hot it made it very difficult to sleep.

Staff in the restaurant very nice, but not at all professional. Very noisy room with no air conditioning overlooking the street!! No parking as advertised .... I travel regularly and particularly choose lodgings which are often a great revelation, this one will not be part of it ...
Passing through Confolens, we booked this hotel for its setting and its 2 stars. Unfortunately this hotel does not deserve them. The positive point of this hotel is the restaurant, pleasant terrace, welcoming staff, and good and generous plates. As for the negative points, there are many... As soon as we arrived at the hotel, the managers of the establishment were not welcoming, the impression of disturbing them... When we arrived in the room, we noticed that the bottle of water provided has already been opened, a nauseating smell of sewage in the bathroom .... Catastrophic sound insulation (being on the first floor, we could hear at around 11 p.m. the noise of chairs, tables, surely during the cleaning of the room located on the ground floor, the doors slamming, people talking, the TV in the rooms next door...). So we had a first awakening at 7:10 a.m. with a door slamming, we try to go back to sleep but we hear the slightest noise from neighbors or from the ground floor and many doors slamming.... we manage to go back to sleep and we are woken up by a fire alarm. Worried, my spouse is worried and goes out into the hallway where the manager tells him that it's nothing even before the door of the room concerned is opened, the alarm lasts 5min. Regarding breakfast, I had asked until what time breakfast was served and I was told that between 10:30 and 11 a.m. it was still possible), we arrive at breakfast at 10:30 a.m. everything was tidy, we were brings out a basket of pastries with 2 pains au chocolat and 1 croissant (not even 2 pastries per person and lower quality), we could not have coffee because a part of the machine was missing, very little choice... It's not worth its price. We go to the reception to settle the bill (restaurant, tourist tax) because we had already paid the reservation online on booking. The manager prints us the total invoice with the price of the room... We specify to him that one has already paid on line and affirms to us that no, nothing is paid. We assure him the opposite, so he goes to check... He comes back to us without any excuse, saying that it's an internet reservation and that it's been paid for and issues us the new invoice. No excuses, no good manners, no politeness, the most important thing when you run a hotel is to appreciate customer contact, I think this is not the case with the manager of this establishment! To sum up, for the restaurant, I recommend it to you on the condition of falling on the employees rather than the managers and for the hotel part, run away.....! PS: I attach a photo of what we find in the rooms which is very contradictory with reality, it would be better to put nothing.!!
