Unlike hotel chains, here it is the hotel that adapts to your requests and not the other way around.
It's a perfect hotel for the area. We come here for mountain biking (VTT) in the autumn and always receive a very nice welcome. We also have a lovely dinner in the restaurant and a sound night's sleep. Great value - we'll keep coming back for more. Merci.
The meal was mediocre. My husband was unwell all night because of a stale meat dish.
Good for the price
Hotels,com paperwork stated 2pm was earliest arrival time - we arrived at 3pm to find the hotel locked & a hand written note stating that 5pm is the opening time. A lady arrived at 5pm and let us in. We were looking forward to having an evening meal in their restaurant but it was not open on Mondays - The owner booked us into a restaurant in town but we had to drive there.
Overall our room and facilities were good - breakfast was the usual French fare and the breakfast room was pleasant.
Our host was very pleasant helpful.
Good local hotel and warm welcome. Great for a stop over, or for a couple of days to visit the region.

Very warm welcome, the hotel is very well located, impeccable bedding, the exterior is superb with its pretty park. The restaurant Le Grill is top notch, great wood-fired cuisine. I highly recommend it and will come back next year. Thank you.
Very clean hotel, comfortable beds but the maintenance of the equipment is insufficient (unlocked toilet door which gets stuck closed)

IN a quiet location, near the town center of Domfront (be careful of the steps to climb). Breakfast a little reduced.

Very friendly staff, with little French from our side and little English from their side we managed all topics and services easily. Nice that we could park our bikes in a locked shed. Dinner in the attached restaurant was excellent!

A very nice clean building. The stay was quiet. We were impressed by the dining area, bar room and especially the back gardens. It was a real treat to walk around a quiet country spot after a long day. But the most impressive thing was the staff. Never before on my business travel or holidays have I come across a staff that was so dedicated to solving my issues. Making calls to their own family members for information, retrieving tools/ electrical parts to help us out with our power converter and looking after our dietary preferences. Our stay was a great experience on a car trip with a few disappointments at other stops along the way. Tres bein et merci beau coup!
A very welcoming host who provided an excellent service to two tired cyclists. The room was spacious and well equipped with a lovely view of the garden. It was our third visit. We would heartily recommend to anyone.
We had cycled 100 km and had to wait in the rain because the hotel had not informed us they would not be open until 17hrs.
Even though we had made a reservation for dinner the hotel had not informed us that the restaurant was closed! We were offered a tray with 3 plates, one which we could heat up in the microwave provided!! We declined.
There was only shower gel in the bathroom, no shampoo.
We had a horribly uncomfortable night because the pillows were lumpy and the sheets were rough and scratchy.
The staff were very helpful, especially when we asked for a better pillow. The food in the Grill was tasty and not too expensive. The hotel’s proximity to the cycle track was the main attraction but it was a pleasant stay.

We arrived after 2pm to check-in and discovered a note saying reception would be open at 5pm. We had no notice that this would be the case and were disappointed as we had driven from the ferry early that morning and were looking forward to having a rest before heading for dinner.
We then discovered their restaurant was closed that night so were directed to the nearest eatery.
In the morning we discovered no hot water in the bathroom but we're not informed until I went to reception. Whilst the receptionist gave sincere apologies and said that it was exceptional, it would have been courteous for to ring residents to let them know. The only offer of compensation was a free continental breakfast which we didn't have time to consider.
The tea tray only had 1 teabag and no milk, just as well neither of us wanted tea or coffee in our room.

The site is very dubious, it casts doubt on the reservation, I considered it a scam, supposedly free option and it is false. Not very honest as a process. The hotel had nothing to do with it, but I was angry.
We were only able to take a quick shower, the water was barely lukewarm in the evening and the next morning the same.
I booked a room here for the sole reason that there was a restaurant on site. When I arrived I was informed that it was closed. It was a Friday. I was not offered to find something to eat in the (closed) kitchen, such as a frozen pizza, a sandwich, a bag of peanuts or anything to drink. I was not offered to take a taxi into town or have takeaway delivered. Very, very mediocre. At the price of €100 for a single room, the world expects better. We were on a bike tour and previously stayed in two other Logis Hotels, both of which were awarded 3 stars. For us it is a mystery why the Hotel De France only has two stars. Compared to the other hotels, the room was not on the street. We had a relaxing and quiet night. The shower was handicapped accessible and not in a bathtub. The entire room was newly decorated and clean. The waste baskets were empty and there was nothing left in them from our predecessors. Highly recommended, we would love to come back.

Hotel with a lot of charm. Well renovated room. Same bathroom. On the other hand, a duvet instead of the classic sheet would be welcome Grill restaurant you have to take grilled meats….excellent.
