The rooms are inconspicuous from the outside, but they are large and tastefully furnished. The restaurant offers home-cooked food. The price-performance ratio is extremely good.

Excellent evening stopover at all levels, welcome, comfort, cleanliness, service and catering. I asked for a coffee before breakfast opening time, and obviously I was intruding, but it was kindly served to me anyway. Very good value for money which allowed me to have a glass of Burgundy… well two ;-) with dinner. I will definitely come back.

Value for money
The hotel rooms we booked were advertised as "double or twin". When we arrived we were presented with 2 doubles. We were told at first that a double in France is the same as a twin and if we wanted a second bed it is called a triple. The next morning we were told that we had to ask ahead for a twin if we had wanted two beds (even though the receipt says "double or twin"). We were, therefore, charged extra for pulling out the couch in the one room and making the bed up ourselves so that it was a "twin" - as advertised in the receipt. Nor were we informed there would be an additional price when we did this.
Located in a pretty village on the Marne. The Cheval Blanc is very good value for it's Logis classification.
