Very friendly staff! Decent food. Clean room. Bathroom needs to be updated and soundproofing is very average.

The images of the room on the website did not correspond at all to reality. The bed was wedged under a gully, offering access to only one person out of two, in the double bed. The bedding was of average quality, but above all the bed creaked at the slightest movement, not to mention the floor of the room which creaked horribly with every step. The same in the neighboring room since there was no soundproofing, we unfortunately experienced it early in the morning. The neighbor could not do anything about it because it was impossible to move around without noise. The layer of dust on the old bathroom window was several years old, the water inlet pipes in the ceiling were rusty! The establishment may have been located in the remote and rural Creuse, but that does not excuse these breaches of the basic rules of hygiene and respect for the customer. I also forgot to mention that two medium-sized dogs roamed freely on the stairs leading to the rooms or in the breakfast room. I love animals, but I didn't find it normal for them to be there.

Great welcome, proper catering, environment that's different from the big chains. I love it! On the other hand, access to WiFi in the room was impossible (2nd floor). For a professional stay with the need to work, it wasn't great. But I'll be back with pleasure!

Discovery of a beautiful establishment

On the 2nd floor, very noisy parquet floor, you can hear the neighbors moving around too much. Average bedding. Traces of humidity on the walls, too bad.

A surprising discovery. Simple, authentic hostel, with multiple cultural activities. It is not the height of luxury, but the atmosphere of the place, the relaxed and friendly welcome of the whole team largely outweigh it.

Clean bathrooms and floors in the rooms. Nothing to say. Very good value for money restoration. Doors and woodwork to be repainted. Storage to be reviewed.

If all the rooms are like mine, it's better to close them. The (dirty) floor creaks at the slightest step, the bed is uncomfortable and noisy with every movement, the walls are made of paper, the shower cubicle can be dismantled at the slightest movement, the image on the micro TV is pixelated and not clear. Being under the roof, the heat is unbearable. A disaster!

Some improvements are to be expected. Bathroom. The bedding is however very comfortable. The linen is very clean. The breakfast is plentiful.

Despite the aging but clean rooms, we had a pleasant evening because our hosts are very friendly.... We recommend

Unsanitary bathroom, mold on the ceiling and on the shower head, shared toilet without paper on arrival and room until our departure.

The wooden floor on the 2nd floor is very noisy and as soon as someone in the adjoining rooms walks it is too noisy.

Cool welcome and nice hotel in a lively locality. My downside: the parquet floor squeaks too much! It's hard not to wake everyone up! The water network is getting a little tired. Otherwise, there is character, a good atmosphere, well-stocked and good breakfasts, life and a warm welcome!

Very warm welcome from the staff and a good stay in Creuse. The only downside is that the bed is a little low and a little small.

The hotel is a bit dated. But the staff is smiling and welcoming. I was on an evening stopover. Overall we will say that the atmosphere is Original. The floors creak, the furniture old, but I had a very good night's sleep. The bathroom is OK but nothing more. A hair dryer is missing. In the restaurant the products were fresh (raw vegetables) there is a large choice of Burgers without forgetting the Creuseise fondue. At breakfast there is no salty food, cheese or ham.

I had a pleasant stay at Jarnages. The atmosphere is there! The accommodation is comfortable, relaxing and functional. However, when I arrived, there was no one to welcome me (at reception or by telephone). But this concern was compensated for by the sympathy and professionalism of the members of the Alzire team.

Quality of welcome, dedicated and attentive staff. Rustic inn and warm atmosphere (nice blues music!). Quality and originality of the cuisine. We are keeping this address for our next stay.

Nothing to complain about, a charming retro taste for this inn which changes us from these one-design chains.

Stay while the hotel was closed, we were warned, but it was not even possible to drink a coffee before hitting the road again, neither at the hotel nor in the village. A shared kettle with coffee available would have done the trick! Room quite correct even if the location of the bed is… surprising making it inaccessible for 2, and smell of grease impregnated in the textiles (despite period when the kitchen is closed)

the premises are dilapidated and dirty. Very significant mold on the window frames, very dirty shower (we were not able to shower), non-existent sound insulation between the rooms. On the other hand, the linen is clean and the catering is nice, except that the wine list is not up to date: 3 references requested and not available, no equivalent

Atypical but very nice place

The room was cozy, you have to like places that are a bit old, which is my case, lovers of hotel chains refrain…

Super friendly staff. Aging Hotels and Rooms. It's comfortable and clean. Nice setting in a small village. A no frills place to stop over but I wouldn't stay several nights. We have not tested the restaurant, the menu looks great.

A hotel restaurant surprising both in terms of the plus and the minus. Very good cuisine, products, presentation, value for money. Cleanliness of the correct room but bathroom ... very average unfortunately. Small, very dimly lit, "plastic" shower cubicle with the sloping shower tray.

Equipe au top, vraiment accueillante.
La partie restaurant est vraiment sympa, bon, copieux et il en est de même pour le petit déjeuner.
Pour l'hôtel, chambre sans table de chevet, sans lampe de chevet, sans sèche-cheveux, un téléviseur minuscule où les chaînes sautent sans arrêt et un réseau wifi pas terrible. On a l'impression d'être dans un dortoir tellement il n'y a pas d'insonorisation. Vous partagez tout avec les autres voyageurs.
Je ne reviendrai pas y séjourner professionnellement mais j'y reviendrai pour les bons petits plats et l'équipe sympathique.

Not up to the standard we expect of a Logis. Our room was unclean, one WC was shared between all the other rooms on our floor. We felt that the standard


We did not feel that this hotel was up to the standard we would expect from a Logis - even of a Logis 'Essential'. Our room was unclean - cobwebs and dust. The bed was comfortable but the single pillow provided was smal and lumpy. We had to share one WC outside our room with other residents. There was nowhere in the rom to put bags etc, and no chair to sit on. No soap was provided. We enjoyed the simple evening meal and the outdoor concert, and breakfast was adequate. The owners seemed more concerned with the concert than with looking after their guests. Table service was poor and disorganised - there was a general sense of chaos. We had to ask three times for coffee after the meal, but it never arrived and in the end we gave up. There was no-one at reception when we arrived, though eventually I found Madame who spoke to me with a cigarette in her mouth. When we came to pay our bill in the morning, no details of our evening meal and drinks had been put on our account. We had to explain to the receptionist, whom we had not met before. So overall we did not feel that we were in a welcoming and efficient environment, unfortunately. We have a high opinion of the Logis chain and use them frequently when we visit France from the UK.

The room is very hot, overlooks the road and the church so either you open the window or you are quiet, my mobile operator does not. does not pass and the wifi is capricious...

A stopover for our very pleasant trip! Delighted!
