A very nice address where we like to come when passing through the region. Warm welcome, excellent food and rooms with a very good quality-price ratio

We are very disappointed with our stay at the Bois Joli hotel in Bagnoles de l'Orne. The hotel, where we stayed several years ago (and recommended at the time to our in-laws and many friends, who always came back delighted) and of which we all had unforgettable memories, unfortunately no longer offers the same services as before... Things always end up changing unfortunately! Our (tiny) room with old-fashioned decor and outdated wallpaper, had a bed with a sagging mattress, a wall light covered in threads of dust reaching up to the ceiling (guaranteed surprise when it was turned on, once you lay down under it…!), bedside lamps with stained lampshades and a bathroom the size of a charter plane… The breakfast served as a buffet was quite disappointing for the price charged, both due to the lack of diversity of the foods offered and the lack of replenishment of these few foods… So we had to “ask” for fruit juice (and wait a while…), brioche (and be told “I don’t know, I’ll see…”) only to see an individual mini-brioche arrive much later on the buffet…) which is very annoying. The post-Covid health measures are not respected (letting customers cut and touch the bread and the single brioche, in defiance of basic health recipes). The customers who eat first therefore have more choice than those arriving 1 hour before the end of breakfast, which is quite abnormal. Finally, the hotel staff, whose dress and attitude are indistinguishable from those of the customers, are neither helpful nor smiling (in the morning, the lady - with her mobile phone sticking out of her pocket - blows in front of the customers - we feel like we are disturbing her -, the other person who "places" us in the room disappears to go and vacuum herself during breakfast...). We had to ask for the breakfast and check-out times ourselves, on arrival we went upstairs ourselves (no accompaniment...?). In short, we are far from the minimum required, appreciated and expected of a 3-star hotel and especially at the rates applied (room €119 and breakfast at €13.50!!!). Too bad, we will not return! The address was correct though.
Perfect bike welcome in a typical, quiet building. Refreshed after a good meal and a good night's sleep, we hit the road again in great shape
A very pleasant stay. All the staff were very helpful despite our French being rather basic!
Suggestion there is no bedside table on left of bed so water glass on floor.
Very strange having a toilet right by the window without privacy curtain.
Beautiful Dinner, however slightly spoilt by having to wait over 1 hour fifteen minutes for starter without any explanation for the delay. At the end of the meal we were given an apology and a glass of desert wine which was at least an acknowledgement.
Very poor breakfast service, for example not offered any more tea/coffee. Left alone and waitress not around.
Access to the hotel a little complicated due to works in the street, signage not very visible, but it is temporary

A beautiful establishment with a warm welcome, perfect bedding, a gourmet and refined restaurant. The staff is adorable, whether at reception or in the restaurant. I like to stay there to feel almost at home while I'm on a business trip.

well located hotel, access to city services is on foot, attentive staff, hearty meals; that's the good side. For the bad side: some photos of the "classic double room" on the site do not correspond to reality (photo of a corner bathtub converted into a shower whereas it is a single shower in the bathroom); equipment that works but obsolete (an old shower head that consumes a lot of energy even though there are plenty of recommendations on saving water!!!!!), a room surface area that is not mentioned in the description ( we were entitled to 10m² max)
Slightly excessive price for an evening stopover. To be sure because it was a Sunday Little choice at breakfast Home however good quality
OK stay in a somewhat vintage hotel. Hotel Room, with bathroom not very young, in which the heating was not turned on. I was told the next day that it was up to me to do it... Catering Dinner: There were only 3 customers that evening and the establishment did not have all the products on its menu to offer , and forgot to say it before taking the order... Attention, with an appetizer, but bathed in fat. Too bad Breakfast: I will refrain from writing my comment having opened it directly to the boss. Finally, a big gap between the rating of the channel and the experience. The establishment has just been taken over at the beginning of October, let's hope it gets back on track. Good luck!
