A haven of peace in the middle of one of our most beautiful forests in France, this hotel is very pleasant, the food is excellent and the owners welcome you with a big smile! Ideal stopover to discover the Tronçais forest
The welcome, comfort and location of the hotel are perfect. The door to the bathroom/toilet still needs to be improved, as it does not work properly (it would be enough to slightly raise the rail on the left side): this is complicated for privacy, especially since the window does not open and I did not see any VMC. The breakfast is delicious, but at 14 euros you could expect to find fruit, cheese or eggs. These 2 points are just details that do not call into question the efforts that were made to welcome us. We feel very good in this hotel as well as in the restaurant. The park, adjoining the pond, is an invitation to stroll and in summer, it must be even more enjoyable to eat there.

Beautifull surrounding, great restaurant. Owner speaks perfect English and French, other staff only French. Good beds. Shower outdated aand not clean.Restaurant stylish and high class (for a real good price) same goeas for the wine.
This was a very odd stay. Mostly it (especially the food) was excellent. However, the state of the bathroom was very poor. Mould all round the bath tiles and shower screen. It hadn't been cleaned properly in YEARS! Shocking, and neither of us was willing to have a bath or shower. Consequently we cancelled our booking for our return journey, and we will not re-visit.
In summary, this is an unusual hotel. Some aspects are excellent (eg food, especially breakfast), some are appalling (eg state of bathroom). The contrast is surprising.
VERY NICE HOTEL.
This was our 3rd stay at this hotel and, as always, we were very well received by the owners in an exceptional setting, located in the heart of the Tronçais forest. We also enjoyed the restaurant where all the dishes were delicious. We will definitely come back.

Beautiful hotel with a beautiful park, a beautiful restaurant and a beautiful terrace. Good meal and good breakfast. Attic room in the annex not at the level of the hotel, not very spacious, the shower and the bathroom / WC area are aging and not very clean. This contrasts with the rest of the hotel. The welcome is warm, the owners are attentive and strive to make your stay pleasant.

Arrived at 16.00, open as advertised, nobody appeared until 17.30. Annex room disappointing, particularly bathroom which was mouldy, especially the shower cabin which was dreadful, no hot water on arrival.
The Charolais steak was the worst I have ever experienced, more fat and gristle than meat, which was also tough and tasteless, poor vegetables. Breakfast was limited in choice (no cereals, fruit cheese etc), didn't start until after 08.00, late for transit traveller.
Patrons were helpful.
I felt this was a couple who were doing their best, but falling short. The main house looked much better.

For the positive points: Professional staff, very pleasant stay, very relaxing and very pretty place, very good breakfast. For the negative points: need a little refreshment, on the floor and paintings of the room, and really what bothered me the most was not having a coffee maker or kettle available in the room. bedroom.

Breakfast: no buffet, imposed basket correct but nothing more, double ration per person of mini butter portion but only 3 tiny ramekins of jam (honey does not exist!) The price of this service is still excessive Too bad the place is superb and the establishment has assets

Nice welcome, clean room but a bit small and no view (skylight)
1st bedroom offered very disappointing: huge cobweb at the entrance door of the outbuilding, musty smell, tiny bedroom where you can't stand everywhere, skylight in a deplorable state - 2nd bedroom pleasant - but more expensive -despite the absence of a kettle and blocked shower drain. very dirty outdoor access ramp and park benches. ashtray outside filled with cigarette butts and never emptied during the 3 days of our stay. Breakfast consisting of 1 glass of orange juice, 1 SINGLE tea bag, 3 gluten-free rolls and a 2cm diameter cup of jam ! disappointing for a "logis de France"

Hotel le Troncais is beautifully situated in nature, beautiful garden. Beautiful terrace where I had a delicious meal. The room was in an old outbuilding with wooden floors, very dated and incredibly hot. There was a fan I was too small to open the windows but owner kindly helped to do this. I felt trapped, but the bed was fine. Room was clean but in need of renovation. The entire outbuilding is in need of renovation. The price-quality ratio is not right.

Superior room stained carpet, smell of disinfectant, bedside tablets missing from photo site, bathroom from another era / change of room obtained but low-end service: very low pressure shower, weak and poorly fixed lighting, price posted on door dating from 2021, no soundproofing. smell humidity common areas, noise from the road frequented by trucks Restaurant without menu contrary to the display on site, fourth range kitchen without smell or flavor ', exorbitant price. Discussion with the boss who justifies everything as normal: room 5 said to be higher than 95€ would be the only one not renovated following covid, the site is not up to date because not had time, the hotel has been three stars for 40 years etc .... What to flee the homes of France in the future !!!
Unfortunately there was no tourist menu.
The room was small and some bathroom fixtures were broken but the overpowering damp odour was a disappointment
Everything is there for a pleasant stay in this hotel: quality of the place and the building, good reception of guests, comfortable rooms and tasty meals. I recommend and will come back with pleasure.

Welcome to this hotel and excellent restaurant. The room, on the other hand, was uncomfortable, small and not very clean (dated and with cobwebs). Very quiet hotel, ideally located in the middle of the Tronçais forest.
