We were well received in this hotel combining old world charm and modern comfort. A few more hooks in the bathroom would be welcome. Makes you want to come back in the nicer weather.
We keep this hotel for circa 25 years and last 2 days per year. You will be able to contact us and we will receive telemedicine over the service. Said bezoek was een herkansing en gelukkig kwamen we tot de conclusie dat de service weer bijna op het oude level was. Het is wat ons betreft typisch een hotel voor de winter en voor- en najaar. In the end, the temperature is heated and there is also air conditioning. You were a valet parking attendant who wants small garages. Wij parkeerden daarom op straat en bijvoorbeeld direct onder de remparts est een prima parkeerplaats. Het diner is goed, but Iets minder dan voorheen en ook wat duurder geworden. Ontbijt is fantastic. We hope that this hotel is the right hotel for you.
We had a very large room in the annex, large bathroom with double sink and large shower, excellent food in the restaurant and top service. No parking at the hotel but luckily there was a spot in the alley.

Wonderful room and restaurant
My poor review overall is all about the room we were put in. We were keen to stay in the hotel building itself (it was pouring with rain and we didn't want to be crossing the road to the annexe all the time), and were put in a room which I can only describe as basic and disagreeable - a weird glass panel between the bedroom and bathroom, which meant that there was no privacy. And the bed was extremely hard. Worst of all, we were directly above the kitchen, and deliveries started around 4am (noisily) and continued about hourly, preventing any continuity of sleep. An experience not to be repeated.

Nous sommes désolée que la chambre dans laquelle nous vous avons surclassé (vous êtes passer d'une chambre à 80 euros dans l'annexe à une chambre double supérieure à 110 euros dans l'hôtel principal sans frais en plus.) ne vous ai pas plus. C'étais cependant la seule chambre encore disponible dans l'hôtel. La vitre dont vous parler ne permet pas de voir de la chambre à la salle de bain. Concernant les heures de livraisons nous n'y sommes pour rien mais on s'excuse que celles-ci vous ai empêcher de dormir.
Nous espérons cependant que le repas que vous avez prit vous a ravie.

Dark room with a window overlooking a courtyard of 1.5x3 m. Opening on the second floor but too small to light the bedroom on the first floor, so it is necessary to turn on the lights during the day. Small and unconfirmed room. Not possible to see if it is priche because insufficient light for a check. Very hard mattress, I fell asleep at 5 am and woke up with aches in my back. Price 80 euros for a hole. The beautiful rooms on the so-called run as much. Cold and unwelcoming reception and welcome, no photos of this room on the Logis de France website.
Charmant hotel in binnenstad. Parkeren in een erg nauwe garage, een hele onderneming. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. In hotel heerlijk gegeten, alleen nauwelijks keuze voor onze 2-jarige kleinzoon. Hotel is ook minder geschikt voor kleine kinderen. Bijzondere kamer, erg leuk, maar badkamer totaal verouderd en miezerige douche. Dit zou voor mij een reden zijn om niet opnieuw te boeken, terwijl Langres ongeveer halverwege onze vakantiereis ligt.
We were very well received, in a neat and very calm setting. We also appreciated the restaurant (great sweetbreads!) and the wine list. We will come back!

Very nice hotel in the middle of the fortified historical center of Langres. Dinner Menu was very sofisticated but, in our opinion too good for a late meal with kids when you are hungry from a long drive. Breakfast was very good in a nice atmosphere.

Fantastic quality of food i the restaurant. Really fantastic.
I was accommodated in the annex opposite the hotel, the bedding is correct but the setting is aging, no VMC in the bathroom and toilets hence bad smells in the toilets and humidity in the bathroom. Difficulty closing the room door because the door threshold bar has risen. The catering and breakfast make up for the aging comfort of this part of the hotel.

Traditional French hotel in a beautiful building with a very good restaurant. A bit overpriced in our opinion but absolutely recommended if you are staying in Langres.
Everything was neat and clean, except the radiator you look at when you sit on the toilet. That was dirty. And some mold spots in the shower.

We enjoyed the restaurant and the staff were very welcoming. However our nights sleep was awful. The room was hotter than the hallway and outside. We had the fan on all evening but had to use wet towels to bring our body temperature down. Hardly slept at all. Left exhausted 😩
We stayed in this hotel five years ago and now again this year. The break was too long, we should come more regularly now. This is a great welcoming spot with an excellent restaurant in the absolutely charming town of Langres!

A not very attentive welcome, a very quiet room but with outdated decor and whose walls show signs of deterioration. The missing air conditioning did not have any negative consequences, but.... The restaurant is excessively expensive for the quality of the food: quality products are not enough to make great cuisine.

The room was very poor. We hooked a superior room with furniture to sit down but it wasn’t there. The room was very small and there was no airco. Just a very noisy ventilator. It was not comfortabel at all
Dark room at the end of an inner courtyard, small and old-fashioned, small window onto a skylight. Just a sheet, not even a bedspread. In the wardrobe there was a duvet but too warm for the month of July, the only sheet was a bit small for a cool rainy day, a bedspread would have been nice. Dim lighting and few electrical outlets. Dust in the corners. Cold, lapidary welcome.
Room very disappointing. Extremely hot with inadequate ventilation. Basic decor. In comparison with other hotels at similar price not good value for money. Made reservation for dinner. Was asked by reception if we wanted table on terrace - we said we did. No record of reservation in restaurant so had to eat inside.

Garage was ook prima en het personeel was behulpzaam en vriendelijk.
Langres is ook een leuke stad met veel terrasjes. Dat maakt het hele verblijf ook erg leuk.
We had room 35 and it was a room with a Vera little window and at the end of a corridor. Dinner was fine, but we had to wait a long time for being served. And the personal hospitality was not what we find good in such a hotel. It was not personal at all.

Great restaurant, beautiful location
The location of this hotel is fantastic. This is the second time we have stayed here however, I don’t think we will be returning. Regrettably, the room we had was of a poor standard compared to our first visit. Also the lady who served us breakfast definitely needs retraining, her treatment of us was dismissive and rude, she treated the French guests with civility however, we did not receive the same treatment and has made us change our minds about booking again.

D'abord nous tenons à vous remercier d'avoir choisi une seconde fois notre hôtel. Concernant la chambre que vous avez eu, effectivement c'était une chambre double standard. Cependant c'est la chambre que vous avez réserver. Nous ne pouvons pas vous surclasser au détriment d'une autre réservation lorsque l'hôtel est complet, et nous vous laissons donc dans la chambre que vous avez prit le temps de réserver. Tous ce qui concerne la chambre et sa localisation (ANNEXE) est noté sur les différents sites internet. Concernant le personnelle qui vous à accueillie le matin: celle-ci nous a rapportée avoir été déborder entre la réception et le petit déjeuner et vous avoir demander trois fois de vous installer avant de prendre votre commande. Son comportement n'est en aucun cas excusable et nous lui avons fait la remarque, mais il aurait été correcte d'attendre votre tour. Elle n'a en aucun cas fait de différence entre vous ou les personnes française présente à l'hôtel comme vous le dites.

Beautiful hotel, great services. I just find that the quality of the stage evening has declined in quality since last year. Having a glass of wine before the meal, no more amuse bouche, whereas the other tables outside the evening stage were entitled to it; As well as a simpler menu for gourmet. Encourages you to take the 130th formula for a better dinner... The breakfast buffet has also lost choice. Too bad there are no scrambled eggs for a 3*. Otherwise nothing to complain about. I will come back all the same, but a little disappointed this time

kamer in de depandance is gedateerd; gevaarlijke douche in badkuip; airconditioning ontbreekt; parkeren in de directe omgeving (parkeermeter) is (veelal) niet mogelijk. Een grotere onbetaalde parkeerplaats is op loopafstand bereikbaar. Prijs/kwaliteit dinner is niet in overeenstemming.
Last year we stayed there and based upon our experience we decided to book again for this year,
-we got a very small room in a house opposite the hotel, other rooms were not avaiable although we booked one month earlier
-no table available to have diner, we were advised another restaurant nearby, the food there was poor and of low quality
-although reserved for an inside parking this was not found in the first place, only after some pushing the reservation was confirmed
We were very, very disappointed after a long drive

Dans un premier temps nous vous remercions d'avoir à nouveau choisi notre hôtel pour votre séjour.
Concernant votre chambre, vous avez réserver une chambre dite "double standard" sur booking, or il est bien stipuler que cette chambre ce trouve dans l'annexe. De plus nous ne pouvions pas vous changer de chambre puisque ce jour l'hôtel était complet.
Pour le restaurant, il est stipuler sur nos différentes plateformes que pour avoir une table au restaurant il faut réserver, sans réservation nous ne pouvons pas vous garantir une place dans notre restaurant, ce qui fait qu'a votre arrivée vous, et d'autre clients, n'avaient pas de table pour manger puisque vous n'aviez pas fait de réservation.
La question du parking est la même, sans réservation de votre part nous ne vous gardons pas de place. Nous avons seulement 10 places de parking dans nos garages pour un total de 23 chambres, nous privilégions les personnes qui ont réserver une place dans l'un de nos garages, si nous avons pu vous trouver une place c'est au détriment d'une autre personnes qui elle avait réserver. C'est également précisé sur nos différentes plateformes qu'il faut nous appeler pour réserver le garage. De votre part le seul message que nous avons eu était: "'J'aimerais m'enregistrer à 18:00 - 19:00. C'est possible ?" ce à quoi nous vous avons répondu.

A very beautiful building in the center of Langres. The bedding is comfortable, the rooms well appointed. As with all historic buildings, soundproofing between rooms is average. The restaurants, whether for dinner or breakfast, are worth trying because of good quality.

The reception was very unfriendly. There was no interest or help when we had questions. The room and breakfast were good. But unfortunately something was missing to make us feel comfortable.
Secure motorcycle parking was nice, but expensive
Het hotel ligt in het centrum van Langres. Smalle straten. Hotel heeft een authentieke uitstraling. Kamer was niet groot maar voldoende, badkamer was prima. Helaas was het water niet warm. 's Avonds gegeten in het restaurant van het hotel. Een heel goede keuze. Menu is aan de prijs maar wel de moeite waard. Wij waren er op een maandagavond en het restaurant (beslist niet klein) was helemaal vol. Dat zegt genoeg.

We did not get a twin room as was confirmed to us a month in advance. Idem for the place in garage, only after pressing hard a place appeared available, though hard to reach. The hotel appears to 'forget' confirmations easily.

Een prettig hotel met goed en charmant restaurant in historische prima onderhouden gebouwen. Parkeerprobleempjes dankzij garage oplosbaar. Rationeel en correct opererende directie en personeel, wat afstandelijk wel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Tijdens onze 2 verblijven steeds rustige kamer en atmosfeer, binnen en buiten. Van plan om weer te gebruiken als comfortabele etappe
Fijn hotel, vriendelijke ontvangst, kamer 8 est mooi, en groot. Het enige nadeel was in the shower. Er was te weinig waterdruk om prettig te kunnen douchen, maar ik neem aan dat dit een tijdelijk probleem was on dit verder zo op en top verzorgde hotel.

The water in the bedroom was not very hot
The charger for our car is welcomed but at only 2kw is very slow. We normally get 7kw with our own Tesla charger
Since March under new management. The accomadation and envieonment remain very good. New staff is not enough familiair yet. We booked three very different rooms and with the assignment of the rooms they were classified as the same. We were as frequent visitors more familiair with the rooms than the staff. Valet parking is not an option any more, but no feedback on this was given when we reserved this by phone. The garages are very narrow and challenging. Diner is still good but not as good as before. Enough servants but many of them are managing the process instead of serving, making it less efficient. My hunch or hope is that all of this will disappear over time but there is effort needed to get back on track.
I recommend both the restaurant and the hotel. Excellent stay. Welcome, service and warm surroundings.
Practical stopover hotel in the center of a picturesque town with closed garage next to the hotel. Restaurant: good products, good wine list, recommended house champagne. Overall a little too creamy. Our “superior” room, however, had a certain charm but was cramped and unfortunately next to the restaurant’s toilets…
everywhere I go I tell hoteliers again that the population and therefore the clientele is aging. There is no need yet for US to reserve a 'disabled' room, but, for a small investment, it would be so pleasant, reassuring, and a sign of concern to find a few judiciously placed handles to get in and out of the bathtub, even for standing and also as a support point when getting out of the shower. soap slips! you'll see what it's like as you get older!

The welcome is simple but professional, friendly and “helpful”. The double room was simple, functional, well equipped. Only small regret, no shelves in the wardrobe. The historic building is very well presented. The restaurant is undoubtedly one of the most expensive in Langres, but the quality is there and the price is justified. The quality/price ratio of the weekday lunch menu is particularly attractive. Only regret: the number of vegetarian dishes is sufficient for a dinner, but too few to return several times during a stay of several days. PS: for me, the use of the word "simple" is not pejorative, but means that it is not ostentatious or falsely "precious".
When we arrived we were told that the whole hotel would be closed until 5pm. But we had planned our trip so that we could check in by 3 p.m. at the latest. We also said when we made the reservation that we wanted a shower and not a bathtub. That didn't work either.
We had a room in the annex. Then you have the feeling that you are not really in the hotel. The room was on the small side, but the bed was fine and the bathroom very modern with a good walk-in shower. The sink looked nice (very design) but much too small and therefore impractical. Excellent breakfast. All in all, a good address for an overnight stay to or from the south
Both main courses arrived cold (on hot plates) and had to be re-heated. My husband's quail was incredibly tough and difficult to eat, potatoes were hard.

It was not the first time that we had a very good stay at this hotel. As always, the welcome was warm, our car immediately put in the garage, the luggage was brought to the room and the dinner reservation had already been made. As always, the dinner was of very good quality. We were very pleased with the excellent service from the kitchen and the various servers. Team collaboration is great, everyone knows exactly what they have to do and everyone works with a lot of attention and a good sense of humor. Highly recommended.

Room was very dated- no old world charm and no modern benefit either- room was stiflingly hot - no air on. Opening windows just let in the cooking smells of the kitchen

A lovely stay with perfect family accommodation. Very welcoming to our dog too. Wonderful, refined dinner in the restaurant a perfect way to end our holiday. Langres is a beautiful place to explore on foot and think about Diderot.
Alas there is no air conditioning
We always come here for celebrations and when we want to treat our friends to a great meal. But it's the warmth of the welcome we receive from all the team, which is the standout characteristic for us. Michel, Emmanuel, Gaëlle, Jean and all the staff are credit to the Logis group of hotels. Back in October for more pampering!

Great stay and very very friendly and pleasant staff to redo
We had an overnight stay at the Cheval Blanc in July last year and enjoyed the experience, which is why we booked it again in August for an overnight stop on the journey across France back to Calais. Unfortunately, with the notable exception of the quality of the hotel's cuisine, our overnight stay this month was a disappointment in comparison with the previous year. We booked a double 'superior' room (Room 8), which was inferior in every respect when compared with the one we had last year. Its overall appearance was drab, and the standard of cleanliness in the room and bathroom fell short of our experience in 2022. The bedding was not perfect (little marks here and there), a little grubby in the corners of the room, small splash marks on the bathroom wall around the toilet roll holder, and a face towel from which a lock of human hair fell out. My wife commented to me that from the moment we arrived, it felt like the hotel was under different management compared with the warm ambience of the previous year, and it was confirmed there was new management when we asked on departure. Apart from the enjoyable dinner, our stay was a very disappointing experience.

very pleasant, hospitable and a stay with a lot of charm. Very friendly welcome, well located in the center and yet quiet. The dinner was really sublime, better than a star restaurant. The breakfast is also taken care of down to the last detail. Staff very friendly, we will definitely go back.

Bij aankomst is het aankijken van de computer belangrijker dan de bezoekers. Ontbijt in operation bij ontbijt is uitstekend; wel was er door openstaande ramen en deuren veel tocht.

Cleverly renovated hotel in historic building. Maneuvering into the garage was taken care of for us. friendly team Delicious menu. Price/performance is right. Breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. Check out 10:30 even allowed for a morning walk. We could then leave the car in front of the hotel. Langres definitely worth seeing. Gladly again.

The only weak point is the lack of lighting in the bedroom (N°3) which makes it difficult to read in bed. Everything else is fine.

Good hotel, nice location. Room a bit disappointing. Showering in the bath is actually no longer possible. Restaurant was excellent. Breakfast was meager, little choice and halfway through the bread was already gone and was not replenished.

Friendly welcome at reception, shown to room and given advice on local walking route. We enjoyed a very nice meal in the restaurant. The Dinner Bed and breakfast option was really good value for money.
