Good breakfast on lovely terrace.Totally inflexible fancy dinner unsuitable for children and vegetarians. Room comfortable but small. Warm initial welcome, however.

We should communicate about breakfast time, it's until 9 a.m., or can we show up until 9 a.m.? and the vacuuming cannot be done at another time.
The room did not have air conditioning. The portable air conditioner was particularly noisy and inefficient. We tried to sleep with the windows open. But the 2 a.m. bell and the 5 a.m. fish truck got the better of our sleep.

Excellent restaurant! We must support this hotel because this type of establishment, outside of big cities and places of mass tourism, is becoming rare! And they represent valuable jobs. Congratulations to the entire team at the Hôtel de France!
We chose hostel as the food write ups were great, but the restaurant was shut on the day we arrived. So that was disappointing.

Friendly family-run hotel with delicious good-value meals.
Perfect welcome on arrival. In the evening before dinner we wanted to have an aperitif in the living room. The waiter was in a hurry to finish with us even though we were the only customers. At the table, this same waiter presented the menu to us while running. The suite with the waitress was good. The next morning when it was time to pay the bill, the room booked on your site had taken two euros (which I did not notice). However there were two coffees for the evening meal which we never had. I had already paid by credit card. So the very annoyed girl reimbursed me in cash. Conclusion: check your bill before paying. To err is certainly human, but there weren't that many people to justify it.
We had booked half board for the weekend, unfortunately the logis website didn't inform us it is not possible for half board on a Saturday or Sunday at this hotel due to different menu prices so this meant we had to find elsewhere to eat on the Saturday and Sunday.also slight confusion on our first evening.
This hotel in Rochechouart is really very decent, even if it is unpretentious. In addition, the welcome was given by a very friendly young gentleman.

Glad to see that small independent hotels still survive in France following C19 - we have stayed at this hotel at least three times now and every time the experience has been excellent - good rooms but more importantly the food! Oh boy the food! For a small provincial hotel the food is absolutely excellent and on the whole good value for money - will definitely be staying again when passing this way....
