Room on the road with too much traffic. Impossible to leave a window open at night despite the heat. WC in the bathroom. The hotel did not seem to be full, we could perhaps have had a room overlooking the back of the hotel. Very disappointing breakfast: undrinkable coffee in the opinion of the 3 adults in our group, dry croissants, dry brioche, cold meats and cheeses not suitable for breakfast (we had the impression that it was what was left of the restaurant). The next day we paid exactly the same price for a 3-star hotel in Bourges with air conditioning, swimming pool and quality and varied breakfast buffet (choice of fresh pastries, cereal bread and classic bread, hard-boiled eggs, ham, slices of cheese, choice of yogurt, cake, brioche, pancakes, etc. etc.). The next day, €50 less in a bed and breakfast in Salbris for an equivalent quality of accommodation and a better breakfast (good coffee, fresh fruit, pastries baked in the morning).

We chose this hotel as we always do, small, independant hotel offering simple but clean rooms, a good buffet breakfast, but most importantly on the reputation of the restaurant, which must be "gourmet" category We had booked a table for dinner but found the restaurant closed when we went down. The reception was closed by then so I telephoned the number given on the door and was told the restuarant was closed that evening due to a staffing problem. I was told there were three other restaurants within walking distance. I was assured breakfast would be fine. The first two reataurants were fully booked (it was a Saturday evening) luckily as we were just two, the third made up a table for us. The next morning we enjoyed an excellent breakfast. We were told the chef had had a car accident on the way to work the evening before. These things happen, and cannot be helped, but I would have expcted the hotel to try to notify guests, preferably by being at the restaurant to explain as diners arrived, or at the very least, by putting a note on the restaurant door explaining the situation, and suggesting where guests may get a meal. The accomodatiion was fine, basic but comfortable and clean, and the breakfast good, but I am unsure as to whether I would risk going there again, or recommending it to others just in case somthing goes awry.
