In addition to being welcoming and refined, the hotel offers access to the pleasures of culture, history (abbey, royal military college, villages, manors), nature (picturesque roads, hikes, etc.) and gastronomy. In the restaurant, seasonal products are prepared with precision and inventiveness in a perfect alliance of flavors. A great discovery. Hearty breakfast with high-quality local products and attentive and friendly service. Pleasant, quiet and comfortable room, quality bedding. It could be a simple stopover between Normandy and the Loir and Loire Valleys, but the establishment is well worth a long break to recharge your batteries and enjoy its table full of taste surprises.
Beautiful relaxed hotel and restaurant, professional and friendly staff, and we really appreciate that it's also dog friendly.

An excellent discovery. An attractive hotel dating from 1850 and recently refurbished. Run by a young, enthusiastic team. Imaginative cooking. Some excellent Loire wines. A peaceful location. Parking spaces in front of the hotel may be taken during the afternoon but there are other nearby options, A very warm welcome, both in advance (email exchange) and on the day. The room had separate bathroom and wc.

Very nice establishment, pleasant and comfortable room, tastefully decorated restaurant room. On the other hand, we were surprised by the bicycle room which stands out compared to the rest. It is more of a storage room than a real "Bicycle reception".
Staff were very friendly and courteous, even though they had a table of 14 to deal with they remained committed to us throughout! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good value for money, I would certainly stay there again.

This is a beautiful, family-run hotel which I recommend without hesitation. The surrounding countryside is impressive and the hotel is on the grounds of an impressive abbey with an interesting historical past. Dinner was excellent. There is no staff at the hotel until 18.00 and i arrived at 15.00. However, I was able to check in by phone from outside the hotel.
With high temperatures an air conditioner would be nice. Otherwise good service, clean rooms, good food and friendly people

Très bel Hôtel dans un beau village du Perche. Calme, beaux bâtiment historiques.
The Auberge was really lovely and our dog was made to be very welcome.The food was delicious and great wine! We really only had an issue with our arrival when we couldn’t initially get in as there was no-one on reception. Admittedly we were half an hour early but it’s quite hard to estimate the arrival time when you’re driving. We eventually got through on the phone number by the front door and let ourselves in where our bedroom keys were left out for us.
We stayed at the hotel as an overnight stopover on our journey and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food! Would definitely recommend but may be helpful to put other language versions of the entry instructions along with the French.

This is a delightful hotel with a a lot of historic character. The reception was very welcoming and the cuisine imaginative and exciting. We particularly appreciated the the tranquil garden setting in the lee of the ancient abbey.
Ein magischer Ort, wir hatten uns das Hotel Auberge l'Abbaye in Thiron Gardais jeweils als Zwischenübernachtung in die Bretagne und auch für die Rückreise ausgewählt und waren begeistert. Unser Zimmer mit Ausblick zum Garten und auf die Abtei war sehr schön und ruhig. Zur Abtei sind es nur ein paar Schritte, hier kann man im weitläufigen Garten spazieren gehen was für unseren Hund super war. Der Auberge l'Abbaye ist ein wahres Kleinod und wir werden sicher wiederkommen. Begleitend zu einem hervorragenden Diner konnten wir dem wunderschönen Live Gesang mit Klavierbegleitung vor der Bar von gegenüber lauschen. Zu den Klängen von "Let it Be" sind wir bei geöffneten Fenstern glücklich und zufrieden eingeschlafen. Was for ein Erlebnis.
