Restaurant le Sterenn

When art meets gourmet food
Sterenn (the star, in Breton) is located just a few meters from the sea, with only a footpath and a low wall separating it from the ocean. On sunny days, the terrace and the restaurant's large bay windows let you enjoy the view. The building, of fairly recent construction, is rather modern in style. Inside, this spirit is Read more reflected in a bright, spacious and pleasant dining room, with well-spaced tables, minimally decorated with light wood, no tablecloths, and Breton-style crockery in both materials and shapes. A real success story. Like Johan Marchand's cuisine, well mastered from start to finish. The chef excels in highlighting flavors and balancing tastes, and offers true seaside cuisine (fish, oysters, shellfish, seaweed), always with an eye to the rich Breton soil of vegetables and fruit, as in the case of langoustine ravioli, potato and artichoke risotto, Thai broth or a medallion of monkfish meurette style. Whilst the receptionist was pleasant, we were told on check in that we would not be able to use the restaurant at all during our three day stay. Luckily we have family close by and were able to use alternative restaurants.
I also found the senior member of staff (presumably the owner) was VERY aloof, no smiles or conversation and when asked for us to check out she simply went to find the receptionist to complete the transaction. No smiles, and did not inquired if we had enjoyed our stay. We found this to be very rude and uncaring.
A highly recommended hotel in this star category. We took a short trip to southern Finistère and were very pleasantly surprised. The room isn't large, but the view of the Atlantic is magnificent! Dinner in the hotel's restaurant is also a must.
Good in every way.
Excellent hotel: seafront location, comfortable room, dinner and breakfast.
Just one regret. There's no kettle in the room. When you don't drink coffee... And if you order tea, it's charged.
Very nice location, too bad the restaurant was closed on Mondays, but they recommended another very good address.
