In the center of Vesinet, quiet, shops a few meters away, 5 minutes from the RER station and 20 minutes from Paris!!!
No evening stopover on screen... approximate welcome... no air conditioning... too bad the town of Vésinet is great but I won't be back
We were not informed that this hotel was being renovated. We arrived after 5.00pm and found the hotel hard to find. We had not thought that the Hotel would be in the building site opposite where we were parked. There was heavy scaffolding surrounding the Hotel. We were not shown to our room but on entering found the curtains were drawn. We were immediately going out in the town so did not realise until our return much later (when the reception was unmanned) that the view from both our bedroom windows on the first floor looked out onto a filthy scaffold at window level piled high with hoses, builders tools, bags of plaster, rags and other building detritus. Apart from the disgusting view, the Hotel is in the centre of town and we were worried that anybody could have climbed up the scaffolding during the night and entered our bedroom. So we had to keep our windows shut. The outside temperature was 32C so the room was stifling and even though a small fan was in the room it did nothing to reduce the temperature. We are retired pensioners and well know the dangers of a canicule! I complained the next morning and the receptionist apologised. When I asked for a refund, he said that the price of the room was already discounted, although I looked on the website to find that you could reserve a room for less than we had to pay. We were demanded Tax de sejour as we arrived and asked for it again when we checked out. It was disgraceful. Nothing was done to recognise our address our distress.
In a few words, I would say it was a very good, even excellent, stay. A warm welcome and good quality of services and amenities. I recommend the hotel without hesitation.
The hotel is not ‘charming’ as described. It is an austere charmless place. The entrances narrow steps are unwelcoming, the reception area is bare. The carpets in the corridors and in the bedroom were stained and unswept. The sink was cracked. The man on reception was helpful and the location was a beautiful area
Small, dirty room, only two power outlets and far from the bed, very noisy (no soundproofing between the rooms and with the elevator cabin, doors that slam in the common areas. Friendly and smiling staff when it is not non-existent. Very expensive breakfast price.
