The hotel is very pretty, cleanliness, decor, friendliness of the receptionist, everything was there. I was simply disappointed because I had chosen a room with a jacuzzi and therefore had to pay extra, but the jacuzzi did not work, hence my disappointment at this level.

Excellent hôtel in attractive grounds near the autoroute. The staff are friendly and efficient. The bedrooms are comfortable. There is a good restaurant too but not cheap.

The attitude is formally correct but lacks cordiality and interest in the customer as a person. I came for a quiet overnight stay and a good meal during a long 2 day trip. The meal was fine but excessively expensive. I was exhausted and went to sleep at 10 p.m. At the same time, noise broke out from moving furniture and preparing for what later turned out to be a staff party, directly below the guest rooms. Despite repeated requests, things continued as usual. I wanted to leave because I couldn't get the rest I booked the room for. However, there was no person in charge who could handle the formalities for me. I stayed because I didn't want to deal with the fuss afterwards. But I couldn't sleep until 1 o'clock when the party was over. The next morning there was a manager. She has apologized and blamed the party goers. I do not agree with that. The management of the hotel should see that no parties are allowed in that location when the guests are in their rooms. The space is openly connected to the upper floor where the rooms are via a staircase. I have received a small compensation for the inconvenience. I'm happy with it, but I don't think it's proportionate. By the way, the mattress also made a worn impression.

Relaxing setting surrounded by nature, refined food, attentive staff.

Perfect in terms of catering. Beds not conforming to what we had reserved and no effort on the part of the receptionist to resolve the problem even though it was done in 5 minutes. Small room compared to the price.

Excellent hotel, restaurant, rooms perfect. A real gem.

Nice hotel, beautifully located, nice swimming pool, room was very small for a 'superior' room.

Comfort, calm and pleasure! The possibility of a course in the private woods is a plus which deserves better publicity. Good evening meal, which we found however less generous and tasty than during our last visit. We really appreciated the quality of the breakfast buffet, open from 7 a.m.

We booked a superior room 3 weeks prior to arrival. We were given the key to a room at the end of the corridor beyond a locked door. The room was very small and on inspection we found -
* black mould all over the curtains, and round the window frame.
*Peeling wallpaper behind the door.
* No coffee on the tray, and only one small bottle of water for two people.
* Only one coat hanger in the wardrobe.
*The bathroom was disgusting - black mould all over the shower cubicle and around the door.
* The window was large and couldn’t be left open for security and the exterior shutters wouldn’t close.
* It was a hot night and no air conditioning but a small fan.
We had asked to be moved but were told the hotel was full, although when we booked there appeared to be plenty of availability.
When we arrived at the restaurant after a long drive from UK we had to wait about 45 minutes for the first course. The food was average and they had run out of some things on the menu. The meal was distinctly disappointing after reading the reviews.
We complained again to the desk when we paid the bill and he inspected the room and said he would report to the manager and not let the room until the problems had been rectified. We were expected to pay the full amount for a superior room, dinner and breakfast. We then wrote an email to the hotel but have heard nothing - no apology or reply - radio silence. Very disappointing as we have never had cause to complain about a hotel before but the room is a health hazard for anyone with asthma or breathing problems and not fit for purpose.

A dog friendly hotel with easy access from the motorway a convenient stopover on our way South.
Pleasantly surprised by the restaurant the setting and food were exceptional.
The walks though the forest for our dog was also a bonus!

A lovely hotel in great location for the traveller, and great for pets. Set in large grounds backing onto a forest but within a few minutes of the motorway. The restaurant is first class, we are on the terrace overlooking the grounds. The food and service was excellent. The majority of guests were French and very smartly dressed. Our only negative is the fact that the room did not have air conditioning, and it was 34C during the day! We would recommend this hotel to the traveller who wants more than just a quick overnight stay.

It is a lovely hotel, rooms are on the small size but it is an old building, it is best to opt for a superior room. Bed was comfortable with lovely French pillows and room was cool despite 34C outside. We ate outside on the terrace and it was a perfect end of a day, with beautiful food and excellent service. I felt that the breakfast was a bit ordinary, selection of fresh fruit but no fruit salad, however compote was nice.There was no brown bread and only white bread for toasting. The chocolate cake was excellent, overall a good stopping point and very pleasant staff at the reception.

Excellent hotel and location - Restaurant, service and especially food in Restaurant for dinner Excellent. Seemed to be short of staff especially reception where there was one person trying to do everything! He was very good but obviously overworked with bar duties, reception and phone - Which often rang and rang ....... Different from previous visits, which have been many. Bed coveerings could do with a lighter option in very hot weather I suggest.

The superior room was a little small but comfortable. The bed linnen was white and crisp and comfortable bed. Clean room The starter and dessert was lovely. The pork a little tasteless

Very good hotel

We have stayed many times at this hotel. We find it’s location extremely convenient. The facilities for travelling with our dog excellent (walking in private woodland) and always enjoy the delicious food. The staff are all friendly and helpful

Wonderful hotel and setting. It is so easy to find just off the autoroute. The staff are friendly and efficient. The restaurant is good as is the service. The room was comfortable.

We are extremely satisfied with our stay. The staff are just lovely. We regularly stay in many hotels and it is very rare to find such pleasant, smiling and attentive staff. As for catering and accommodation 20/20. We will definitely come back.

We booked a wheelchair accessible room. We had confirmation we would be staying in a superior room but unfortunately, on arrival we were taken to an extremely small room neither accessible or superior.

Very nice place, bedroom on the ground floor overlooking a garden, very comfortable bedding. Shower room which could be very good, but mold on the joints of the shower, it's a shame! Generally efficient staff, but not very warm welcome from the manager (?). Dinner overall very good (candied carrots Crottin de Chavignol at the top, Lean back with fennel good, on the other hand Pavlova average for my taste), efficient service, but again, a pity that the manager takes his waitress when she comes have a nice chat with you. In short, overall a rather good stay, a superb place, but with a rather unfriendly manager who ruins the whole...

Beautiful estate located in a wooded park with a swimming pool, the only downside is the size of the rooms, however the restaurant is really good and the staff is very helpful. A very good welcome too. A good stopover for our return from vacation.

Excellent stay and cuisine

In 30 years of professional and personal travels, 1st time to be fired from his room without even a kind word, for 20 minutes late due to an accident on the road…. In short, a shame because the potential is there. Terrible reception. Rooms and restaurant on the level.

I am not going to waste my time on writing a comprehensive complaint, but suffice to say it was a hugely disappointing experience, an extremely rude manager who has a temper problem, a room that was located at the end of a corridor that smelt of the loos, and next to a fan. Despite asking to move, I was told I couldn’t as the hotel was full, and that I was free to leave however he would charge me (the only smile he gave during our entire conversation was when he told me this). I left, he charged me. What a horrendous experience.

The entrance to the site is very beautiful. Old building that has been converted into a hotel and restaurant. Excellent rooms that are clean and equipped with everything. Good food in the restaurant and during breakfast. Highly recommended!

Excellent service on all items. Congratulations to the whole team. Plus, what a beautiful setting! Only downside, I would have appreciated a shower rather than a bath. To the pleasure!

Always the perfect night stop when either heading south or returning home. Convenient location for the motorways. Even nicer since the 2019 refurbishment. Friendly and hospitable staff and excellent dinner. They really do have a very good chef. Always my preferred night stop.

Logis Domaine de Valaudran is a superb place to stay. A calm, tasteful and elegant hotel set in beautiful grounds. The terrace restaurant a sheer delight A truly superb yet understated hotel.

We.have stayed here many times before and love the property, the location and the welcome we used to get from the staff. Things have changed. Our “comfort” room was tiny with huge beams and a sloping ceiling, so being 6ft 2ins tall 8 found the room tight compared with the others I have stayed in. For €112 I would expect a bit more. For the same price at a Best Western I would have a better room.

We had broken air conditioning on a very hot day. It was dripping with water flooding the room. We told reception and were told it would be fixed in 15 minutes. We waited an hour and then went to reception to ask as we were going out. We were told it would be fixed while we were out. We returned an hour later and were then told it couldn't be fixed that night but were given a towel to dry it. Not really acceptable service for what we paid.

Haven of peace with perfect service.

If the restoration is very good, however the superior room is very very small, fortunately we were not accompanied as planned by our dog, because we would not have known where to put her!! In addition we had asked on the site to have a room on the ground floor or at worst on the 1st, we were given one on the second and last floor by a narrow staircase! We pointed this out to the manager of the hotel. As far as the restaurant is concerned, we don't like to eat outside but were forced to do so given the "steps" that the staff had to take to get us a table inside! We had tested this hotel as a new stopover for frequent trips, it is obvious that we will not return there again

This beautiful estate is located in a beautiful location, close to the highway, with small but pleasant rooms with an excellent bed and a good bathroom. The restaurant is great, we had a great meal there.

Fantastic meal. Poor reception - not made welcome. Felt we were a pain! Shower room had a bad smell. No towel rail so towels were wet for the morning shower. Apart from the stunning food this hotel was disappointing. Not even a mirror in the bedroom!

Good hotel with great restaurant. The hospitality at arrival and for checking out can be better but I recommend this hotel.

Great hotel, good food, nice environment. However, one point of criticism: this renowned hotel unfortunately also uses impenetrable rubber or nylon mattress protectors. This had not been the case on previous visits, so I was not suspicious. Only after a few sleepless hours did I discover the reason for the bad comfort. I hope this will be reversed, a thick natural material mattress protector should suffice.
